How to Install Kitchen Water Lines

|

Installing your kitchen sink plumbing lines is harder than it looks which is why you’ll need the assistance of trusted professionals to accomplish the task. You can watch DIY videos and complete the project by yourself but remember that it may take you a considerable amount of time to finish it. Fortunately, there are trained and experienced plumbers who can get your kitchen sink and faucets working in no time. For the sake of information, let us share with you how experts set up kitchen plumbing lines.

  1. The faucet’s body is pushed into the hole on the kitchen counter. The flange is pushed up against the bottom of the kitchen counter, just right over the faucet’s bolt stems. The position and placement of these pieces are inspected to ensure that they are mounted straight. The nuts that will hold the pieces in place are hand-tightened.
  2. Afterward, the feeder lines are threaded down from the fixture’s handle. If a single-handle, one-piece faucet is being set up, the sprayer line is threaded down, too. Now if the fixture has separate handles, the supply lines from each of these handles are pulled over to the faucet’s body. They are wrapped with plumber’s tape on each end and then connected to the T-connector from the faucet’s body. If, on the other hand, the faucet makes use of a flange to cover the old holes, the nuts must be hand-tightened from underneath the fixture to keep it in place.
  3. Moving forward, the spray nozzle’s hose is threaded down. If it’s a pull-out spray, the faucet’s spray head should be pushed down into its body while threading. If it’s a side-spray type, the hose should be threaded down through the counter. The hose is connected to the right connector on the fixture’s body. Counterweights that came with the faucet should be placed as well as per manufacturer instructions.
  4. Once that is done, the ends of the water supply valves are wrapped with plumber’s tape, too. The supply hoses’ ends should be screwed onto the supply lines. The supply lines are also wrapped with plumber’s tape and then attached to the faucet’s feed lines. Connections are tightened and secured with the use of a wrench to prevent leaks.
  5. Now it’s time to check the plumbing! Put a bucket right under your sink and then turn the water supply valve on. Run the tap and check for leaks.
